OK, so its time to get my website setup for this class. Actually I have been working on it off and on for over a week now and am taking the opportunity to push my web knowledge a little further. First was CSS, then a little Ajax, and now a lot of Ajax as I ditch Microsoft's Ajax.net and delve into JSON. That is the point that I am at now, leaving the page in a bit of disarray. But it is for a better cause as it will help me out tremendously with my job as well as keeping my schedule in this class.
Right now it may not seem like much but I have started building my own little content system and even though I have the DB tables in place for comments and the such I am going to keep all of that here at blogger for the time being and focus on the important stuff to keep me on track like the scheduling page. I decided that it is inevitable that I will miss a date here or there so I will have to be able to compensate when needed so I have started by making the schedule update the colors according to due dates. It will change to orange when I have a week left on a task and red when I am down to the last day. If I miss the deadline then it will remain red showing that I missed it, otherwise ending up as green. From here I can keep track for future projects where I fall short this time around.
Last is the blog entries contained here on Blogger, but being filtered int the page with a little back end module RSS Toolkit to save time in parsing the XML myself. Although there is a problem in the linking that is making me want to sit down and do it myself, but we will see if time permits. But this should help me in just keeping a normal blog here and filtering it into the different sections of my page by use of labels.
Well that is enough Web talk for now. Time to work on the story a bit.
