A day with my iPad.

I remember a couple months a go having an asinine argument about how much I hated the very thought of the iPad. Actually I hated a lot about Apple. They strike me as the type to think that they are so far above everyone else that they can make there own rules, and you know what, they can. I don't know what it is, but they just seem to get it right. With the exception of Flash, for a first generation device, I don't think they could have done much better. What is it with all other companies and there refusal to put the time and effort into the UI. It has been over two years since the iPhone and the only company to even come close is Palm, but they end up just trying to play catchup.

From an amazing almost 11 straight hours of use without charging, to a great UI to surf the web with I love this thing. Really there were only two sites that I even noticed the lack of Flash on. Beside the occasional blank square where an annoying add should have been playing, 3DBuzz.com and JamPlay.com were the only two that I could not watch training videos on. Now that is a huge downfall in my book, but the browser is so fast that it has me wondering if speed is partially reason Apple ditched Flash. If I can find a remedy for these two sites, I wouldn't even give Flash a second thought as it slipped into the cold dark techno graveyard. Always hated developing in Flash anyway.

In any case, that is just about all I have to say about that. Now time to go see how awesome the Marvel Comics App is.

As a small update, it has now been two months and I rarely visit 3D Buzz and JamPlay any more. Some of the reason is because the iPad is now my primary web device and these sites just don't work, but mostly because I am too busy lately. But it goes to show that sites that refuse to cater to new technology quickly can lose a customer or two. Not quite sure how big of an impact the iPad has really made on sites, but I bet it will be bigger than anyone expects over the next two years.
